Okay, I have to tell you about this book I just read. It’s called 'Beautiful Joe,' and it’s not what you think. First off, it’s written by a dog. Seriously. Joe is a mutt who had a really rough start in life with a cruel owner. The story is him telling us his life story, from the darkness of that early abuse to finding a safe and loving home with the kind Morris family. It sounds sweet, and parts of it are, but it doesn't shy away from the harsh reality many animals faced back then. The main 'conflict' isn't a mystery to solve; it's Joe's journey toward healing and learning to trust humans again, while showing us the world through his eyes. It's heartbreaking, heartwarming, and will absolutely make you look at your own pet differently. It’s an old book, but the emotions are timeless.
